XRiller

XRiller is an item, which round off our ski running surface (SRS) tuning line. Now we have all tools to modify SRS roughness to any directions.

The XRiller is a kind of manual structure imprint tool. XRiller’s distinctive characteristics:

1. It is not a cutting tool, it is a knurling tool;
2. The XRiller’s edge is sharper, than edges of other similar knurling ski tools;
3. The XRiller’s helical knifes thread pitch is much wider, than thread pitch edges of other similar knurling ski tools;
4. Because of the helical knifes sharpness and the thread pitch wide the XRiller creates quite high unit pressure on the processed SRS. Much higher than other similar knurling tools, which employed standard metric or inch screw-thread;
5. By the high unit pressure the XRiller makes clearly visible imprint on the processed SRS;
6. We can heat the XRiller (maximum to 170 °C), to make even deeper imprint;

General strategy

For the cold dry weather conditions we apply the XRiller with a moderate pressure and quite short passes over the entire SRS. If by too hard pressure we got projecting edges on the crisscross pattern, just use Kuzmin™ scraper (1-2 dainty passes) to take the projecting edges away.

For the wet snow conditions we heat the XRiller up to 140-150 °C and with significant pressure and quite short passes apply the XRiller and over the entire SRS.

All other weather and snow conditions require some interpolation of the above two strategies.
